Our Office
Our office building is located in the River Street Gardens complex of historical Victorian homes, which were moved to this site and renovated by Barry Swenson Builder several years ago. There are eight buildings on this site occupied by several different kinds of businesses, including our law offices, a coffee house, a real estate developer, a hair and nail salon, a marketing and advertising firm, and others.
The house we occupy as an office was originally located at 70 River Street, where the Guadalupe River Park now stands. If you look up at the glass window above our door you can still see the faded number 70 there. According to the builder's website, the home was known as the Pozzo house and was built in 1900 in the Queen Anne style.
The area around River Street was occupied over a hundred years ago by the hardworking middle class: plumbers, police officers, railroad workers, immigrant laborers. Their legacy has been preserved in the elegant restoration of the buildings at our site and if you have a moment you should walk around the complex to see the interesting use of colors and design that each business has. The buildings here are all painted in a different color and the color of the building number and background of the signs in front of each house match the building.
There is also a common area and arbor behind our building in a courtyard that has lovely citrus trees, grape vines, and a peaceful atmosphere. This, combined with the park beside us, provides a unique and welcome place in which to work and for our clients to enjoy when they come by.
The interior of our building, which we share with Merrisa L. Coleman-Bishop, another family law attorney, is very tastefully and professionally decorated. The environment is warm and welcoming and we offer all visitors a hot or cold beverage when they arrive. There are two attorney offices, two staff offices, a reception area, a library and conference room, a kitchen, and a wheelchair-accessible bathroom. Our building is fully ADA compliant and there is an access elevator lift at the right rear of the building for anyone who cannot climb stairs. Please let us know if you need assistance using the lift so we can get you inside and up to the office safely.
